COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
INTERNATIONAL
SAE entry requirements vary depending on which course you are applying for, and whether you are a New Zealand or International student. Alternatively, simply check the chosen course page for the entry requirements relevant to you. If you are an domestic student visit SAE's domestic entry requirements.
An international student is eligible to apply for entry into a Bachelor’s Degree programme with:

the equivalent of NCEA Level 3 with related subjects, and

evidence of meeting language requirements, as set out in the NZQA rules

All international students must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the programme.
An international student is eligible to apply for entry into a Diploma programme with:

the equivalent of NCEA Level 2 with related subjects, and

evidence of meeting language requirements, as set out in the NZQA rules
- All international students must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the programme.
English as an Additional Language Applicant Requirement
- English as an Additional Language (EAL) applicants are those for whom English is not their first language.
- EAL applicants must provide evidence of meeting the standard NZQA minimum English Proficiency Outcomes as set out in section 22 of the NZQA Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules.
- EAL applicants should include a full academic record or a recent English proficiency test (e.g., IELTS or equivalent) with their application.
